Rachel Sasse got her motorcycle license at 17 riding around on a little Honda CT70. At 23, she jumped to a Kawasaki Ninja ZX6E, and she hasn't looked back. Rachel took the MARRC Roadracing School in 2004 and has been racing ever since. She met Rick by joining his race team, where he was a tremendous help teaching her about bikes. Rachel hopes to impart her passion for racing on others to help the racing and motorcycle industry grow to be as popular as it is in Europe!
After selling Fast Lane Cycles, Rick needed a new project. Combining their passion of motorcycles, racing, and their hard work ethic and determination, Rachel and Rick decided to open a new shop in the Sterling area. It was close enough to service their dedicated customers in Fairfax, a nice ride up RT 7 or RT 28, while expanding into Loudoun County, which was in dire need of a real performance shop.
Why shop with RnR Cycles and trust us? We pride ourselves on giving our customers the best service available, the best advice on parts and accessories, and a crew that understands all aspects of our business. We have a rock solid reputation of providing excellent customer service, support and satisfaction. We are the Northern VA motorcycle shop for you. 2007 year end race report The Final ASRA Team Challenge at Daytona's Race of Champions resulted in a very successful season for RnR Cycle's racers, Rick Beggs and Rachel Sasse. Rick Beggs, racing on the Moon Repsol GTO team with, Paul Gilchrist, started the race on outside of row 2. The holeshot went well, heading into turn one in about 5th place Then Rick used the power of the big Suzuki to start catching the other open class bikes. The first time Rick came around the track, he was in 4th place. Setting himself up for turn one, Rick was suddenly rear-ended in turn 1 by one of Vallely Racing's bikes. Rick was lucky to be able to hold on to the GSXR as he was sent headlong off the track. Fortunately, with the new Daytona track, the grass runoff had been replaced by pavement, and Rick was able to quickly turn the bike around and rejoin the race, albeit towards the back of the pack. Putting his head down, Rick went to work doing what he did best, steadily picking off bikes until the gas light came on. Without being able to give the pit crew a heads up, Rick sped into the pits and the crew scrambled together to refuel the bike. With the unexpected pit in, Paul hurried to don his helmet and gloves and waited to take over riding. The fuel can had been overfilled and the tank spewed gas. Paul Gilchrist hopped on the bike as the pit crew wiped up the excess gas on the tank and took off. Paul rode very well, barreling through the banking, past other bikes. Tire wear started to become a factor as the race wore on. The bike's power made it hard not to spin the tires onto the NASCAR banking, especially exiting the chicane on the back straight. Paul kept up the pace, riding consistently. Although they knew they weren't going to win first place, both Rick and Paul knew that with enough points, they had a chance to win the overall championship as well as their class. RnR Racing, on their ZX6R, had already locked up the lead for the GTU Team Challenge championship in points. As a bit of strategy, RnR Racing gave up their chances for a podium GTU finish in Daytona by entering the last race in the GTO class instead, to help increase the point spread between the #3 bike of Moon Repsol and the other GTO teams who were closely battling for overall points. Ed Rodriguez started the race keeping a low, but steady profile. With the GTU championship well in hand and no chance of increasing their overall standing in 5th place, there was no reason to push too hard and chance a spill. Since there was going to be a definite need for two fuel stops, a two-rider change was planned so that all three riders would have about a 40 minute session on the bike. At the 30 minute mark, Rachel Sasse pulled on her leathers. It was a relatively hot day, but there was a constant, light breeze. Thirty eight minutes into the first session, she put on her helmet and gloves, waiting anxiously in hot pit, watching Rodriguez cross the start/finish line lap after lap without signaling that he was coming in. The team wondered what was keeping Ed on the track while Rachel had to take off her helmet to gulp down some more water to keep hydrated. Apparently, time ran away with Ed as he was surprised to see race flagged at the halfway mark. He took the next lap in and hopped off the bike as 4 gallons of fuel was dumped into the tank and Rachel jumped on. As Rachel exited pit lane, she recognized Scott Harwood on the Moons Super Cycle bike #81 coming out of the east horseshoe. Rachel decided to follow him around the track and see if she could keep up. She stayed relatively close, trailing the bike exiting the barrel roll and up the steep banking into NASCAR turn 1. She tucked behind the windscreen, chest resting on the tank, gunned the throttle, and was amazed how quickly she came up on the heels of the #81 bike. Unsure of being able to make the pass into the chicane, she had to back off and trailed the #81 bike up the next banking. Rachel tried it again, pinning the throttle, and closed in on the #81 bike fast, over taking it at the start/finish line and into turn 1. She was unsure of where #81 stood in relation to their bike since the #81 bike had wrecked earlier, but whenever you give Rachel something to chase, she chases it. The #81 bike retook the lead out of the east horseshoe and the cat and mouse game was on. The two bikes traded back and forth for twenty minutes, retaking each other either on the front straight or the straight before the chicane. Eventually, traffic slowly pulled the two bikes farther apart. As her thirty minute stint was winding down, Rachel could feel that she was getting tired straining against the wind and G-forces from the banking. Instead of struggling to regain the distance between the bike she had been chasing, she toned it down a notch for the last couple of laps and signaled her rider change for teammate Jason Gibbens. Although Jason was not familiar with the track, he rode the bike the rest of the race to an 11th place GTO finish. It was a tremendous end to the season as the team members attended the awards banquet where Moon Repsol accepted the Team Challenge 1st place overall win and a 3rd place in the GTO class, and RnR Racing accepted the Team Challenge 5th place overall and 1st place in GTU class. Thanks to the CCS officials, the corner workers, and our sponsors for a successful year: RnR Cycles, Repsol, Dedicated Micros, Redline Design, Empire GP, CFM, Dunlop, and Ferodo.

We need to give credit to another shop , Bob's
BMW. They started this policy and we think it is great:
"If you have a scheduled service appointment
and you ride in the rain to get here on time for your appointment, we'll take $15 OFF the
total bill for your service. We wouldn't be offering this except that a bunch of you
fair-weather weenies have been canceling appointments just because of a little rain. Our
technicians, most of whom rode in the rain to get here, are starting to take it
personally! And remember, everybody benefits when our busy service schedule keeps rolling
smoothly, rain or shine. So think about it ... you only need to go to the trouble of
putting on your rain suit to get 15 bucks off your service ticket! Not a bad deal,
eh?"
If you road race, or are considering trying it, you could find no
better place to get your gear and get any questions you may have answered. Rick Beggs has
been roadracing for 17 years, winning 2 national championships and
at least 17 regional titles. He knows what you need and where to get
it.

2007 Objectives I plan to promote my sponsors by attending as many Mid-Atlantic CCS races as I can, continuing to improve as an amateur. By establishing myself as a more dominant presence on the track, I hope to gain even greater sponsorship opportunities. I also plan to continue racing in the CCS Team Challenge series for RNR Cycles and secure a national championship.
My Experience 2006 With my friends pitching together to buy me my ‘new' race bike as a birthday present, and the never-ending help of Rick Beggs of RNR Cycles to help me build a safe and reliable machine, I was a bit more competitive for the 06 season. I was also approached by Jason Gibbens to be his teammate in the CCS Team Challenge series, racing his 2006 Kawasaki 6R. · National 8th place overall, Team Challenge · National 2nd place, GTU class, Team Challenge
2005 My experience on the race track the 05 year was much more productive than my initiation into racing the previous year. I was able to race each of the 6 CCS race weekendss held at Summit Point, and one at VIR. Still riding a severely outdated 1995 YZF 600, I gained more experience as the race season progressed and made enough points to race as an expert for the 2006 season.
2004 I took the MARRC Roadracing School in May 2004 at Summit Point, WV, passed, and raced that weekend on my 1995 YZF 600. I raced my one and only race that year. It was raining, and I ran the race without rain tires. I pushed the bike too hard, low-siding in turn 9 on the second lap. With cancellation of CCS races at Summit Point for the rest of the year and my limited funds, my racing career for that year came to an abrupt end.
Current Sponsors I have to thank Rick Beggs of RNR Cycles in Sterling, VA, for being my main sponsor and believing in me. Also, I have signed with the Lockhartt-Phillips Team Privateer program.
What I ride For the 07 season, I will be racing a 2004 Kawasaki ZX6R.
On the street, I ride a 1998 ZX9R, which I try to ride any day that is above 40 degrees in the morning, and does not drop down below 40 degrees by evening. If it's summer, I try to ride every day. I don't care if it rains on me or not, as long as it's warm!
Where I work Internal Product Trainer, Dedicated Micros. I train my team who provides technical support with regards to the setup, security, maintenance and troubleshooting of our networkable DVR surveillance products.
What I do I am an avid Ultimate Frisbee player, playing on a B division clique league team in the Winter, Spring, and Fall, while on a weekly workout regimen to keep me in shape. I try to fill my thrill seeking in the Winter by getting in some snowboarding time and riding around an indoor mini-moto track, waiting for the new race season to begin.
